Continuing the trip, after having so much fun in Legoland, our car stops in Vejle, a city full of history situated on the East coast of Denmark.
We head to this spot without knowing that much about the place and counted only on the suggestion of our first host, so not too many expectations. Still it surprised us in a good way to discover that we arrived in one of the oldest settlement of the ancient people.

The city itself is not very big, but it has a lot of attractions (especially for the warm seasons). We visited the monuments that surround The church Sankt. Johannes Kirke and the History museum.
The museum is a very modern one, making tourists travel back in time for real. From interactive stories on the walls to the simulator that takes you to Valhalla, ancient maps found in a digital way that helps at understanding better what happened on these territories and a quite nice panoramic view to enjoy from the roof top.
As we were just passing by this spot in the end of october, so a cold season, few hours were enough to visit Vejle, but there are more things to do during the spring and summer such as having a ride with the Viking boat and actually paddle in order to make the boat move or go to the coast and enjoy the sea, view and see some interesting Danish design like the “wave buildings”.
Fun fact: one might think the “wave buildings” are some kind of fancy offices for companies, but people basically live in apartments inside there ( very expensive ones, of course).
As an overall opinion, Vejle is a pretty city and if it is on your way, is worth being explored… BUT I would recommend going there in summer rather than in winter so you can enjoy it even more, plus is right in the middle way between Billund and Odense, so very good location.
PS: if you are a city breaker, all-inclusive fan or the kind of tourist chasing for the very popular places , this is not one of them :-)) is more a spot for those interested in getting to know the Scandinavian culture, history and nature.
