As the temperatures rise more and more during summer, most of us probably dream of a relaxing day at the beach while in our little corner of office. So did I ! Thought of some of my favourite places where I could swim, have a sun bath or scuba dive. π
First comes in mind the closest escapes I could have right now and those are Constanta or Vama Veche, Romania. Some voices would say these are not the best beaches, some may love them more than expected, depending on tastes. I say they are unique.π

Constanta‘s shore might surprise foreigners through its “pure Balcanic” customs. Even Romanians are sometimes making fun of these habits, but to be honest they exist because its part of our culture and what we want… the market speaks for us. To sum up: if you are hungry, thirsty, forgot to bring a sun cream or suddenly want a massage, don’t worry, we got your back π Also something very popular (no idea why) is to let your kid take a picture with a monkey (there is ALWAYS a man with a monkey for that). I have one myself! ππ

Note: If you are a festival lover, you should know that Romania trasforms during summer into a festival realm having one almost every weekend in different parts of the country and with various themes and types of music. In July we enjoy Neversea festival with its stages right near the sea with artists like Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Sean Paul or even Jessie J.
From here, the party goes on in Vama Veche. As an unspoken tradition, every year on 1st of May all students and young hearts go there to party and start the summer season, fun which lasts till colder seasons chase away the last tourists. The place is popular for its special atmosphere, freedom, “yolo” vibes and camping.
Close to these sentiments is also another destination, in other part of the world. Known as one of the most free places in Egypt, Dahab breaks all the stereotypes one have ever had about the country. It reveals another side of Egyptian culture, its colors, music, sentiments and beauties. The surface view brings a stunning combination between sea and mountain, while the underwater world reveals one of the most vast fish and corals fauna.
The streets of the city embrace all elements that make arabic culture unique and impresive. Colored traditional clothes, souvenirs, restraurants with traditional food, spices and jewelries welcome tourists during day, while in the night a magic feeling is brought by hundred of lamps and nargileh flavors.

Still, not everyone is ready for a cultural shock or goes along with this kind of vibe. This is why, for those who want a luxurious, yet at a good price vacation, I recommend going to Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada or North Coast. These are popular places for Russians and Europeans, but I don’t really think the experience would be the same. Yes, people relax and have the best services, plus find few new things about the culture, but most of the time is spent inside that resort and with its employees…no locals, truck rides, blue lagoons or home made food. Anyway, here it really depends on what kind of traveler you are.

Tip: If you go to Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada, you should know Little Buddha club is a good place to party, being one of the rare real clubs in Egypt with no clothing or drinking rules, just the age condition.
